I've been hired by a wildlife magazine to photograph elk and cougars. Well, my first choice was to pick the safer one, which is elk. So last week I went backpacking just outside of the Blue Mountains in Washington state and found about 200+ head of elk! We had to keep up the speed in order to get to them before the sun set. Unfortunately before arriving at a certain angle we ran out of daylight. Below is a photo that I did take, but I still need better, so I'm going out again this weekend. Wish me luck!
Tip of the Month:
When photographing wildlife, such as elk, make sure you’re giving yourself enough time to get that photo you are wanting. Taking different types of animal calls can also help you get that perfect photo. Remember to practice using animal calls before you leave on your trip because you need to be a little familiar of what sounds you can make with them.
