Hey everyone thank you for taking the time to read my blog.
This weekend while out taking pictures to see what could be found an opportunity for a really good shot presented itself. Driving up towards the Blue Mountains, on one of the main roads, several hawks were resting upon the telephone poles in a small area. After seeing so many hawks, and thinking of the photos that could be captured, I thought the best would be of one taking to flight. Waiting patiently, the perfect opportunity arrived. Below is the photo of one of the hawks just taking off.
Most likely this raptor is a Red-Tailed hawk, they are very familiar in our area and all over the continent. There are many subspecies of this hawk, so variations in color are common. The Blue Mountains mentioned are located in southeastern Washington and northeastern Oregon, this mountain range is part of the Columbia River Plateau.
Tip of the Week:
Patience can get you some really great photographs!
