Recently we had the pleasure of doing an old western type photo shoot in Pataha, WA. Our client wanted an old western theme, and to have the photos capture the essence of the good ol' days. Therefor our choice of location was none other than the Pataha Flour Mill. This 3-story wooden frame mill was founded in 1878, and was once famous for its XXX flour that you may have seen the famous Bugs Bunny use in earlier cartoons.
The VanVogt family now owns the mill. They offer tours and community church services. In addition they have a gift shop, restaurant and historic camera collection all within mill. It turned out to be a very fun shoot, and the client was pleased with the outcome.

A few days ago upon sitting outside and enjoying the cool morning air, the quiet tranquil air was all but shredded when the screams of a cast of hawks split across the sky. Our new visitors seemed determined to make an entrance as they tore around picking on the neighborhood squirrel, fighting midair and even ripping branches off the trees. One particularly large branch nearly landed atop the neighbor's cat!
Their reign of terror lasted only mere minutes, but one particular hawk decided to stay and seemed to try to converse with us. Perhaps he was apologizing for nearly squishing the neighbor's cat?
